Urubuquecaba, vagyis a "keselyuk pihenohelye" elnevezest a tupi bennszulottektol kapta a sziget es valoban, folyamatosan fekete feju keselyuk nagy csoportjat lehet latni, ahogy koroznek a sziget folott. A sziget es a szarazfold kozott annyira sekely a viz, hogy akar gyalog is at lehet setalni a partrol, igaz, a sziget belsejebe altalaban nem megy senki (gondolom az ott elofordulo mindenfele eloleny miatt) csak a partjan latni nehany horgaszt.
Aznap mi nem setaltunk at, de legkozelebb atmegyunk.
A molon talalhato Tomie Ohtake japan szarmazasu kepzomuvesz szobra, amelyrol a tenger feloli oldalon visszaverodik a hullamveres hangja, igy olyan, mintha hangszorobol hallana az ember a hullamok zajat.
Most kostoltam eloszor mateteat, nekem izlett, kicsit gyomberes ize van. A matetea (cha mate), vagy csak roviden mate, a mate fa megszaritott levelebol keszult fozet es nagyon nepszeru ital itt. Azt csak gondolom, hogy az eredeti fozetben nincs annyi cukor, mint amit ott a parton beletettek, mindenesetre nagyon finom volt, es nyaron jo sok jeggel biztosan jol oltja a szomjat is. Egyebkent van benne koffein is, es a C-vitamin tartalma is magas.

The last few weeks` rainy and cold weather suddenly was replaced by sunshine and warm so it was a good opportunity to walk to a pier which was close to Canal 1 and where the Tomie Ohtake Sculpture Park and Urubuquecaba island were found.
Urubuquecaba = Vultures` resting (or sleeping) place, it was named by the Tupi people during that time when they started to occupy the Atlantic Coast.
Indeed a large group of black vultures are constantly circling above the island, The island`s terrestrial in the water is so shallow that it`s easy to approach even on foot although the island`s interior is usually not the one to go (I guess because of living creatures that occur there), you can see anglers on the banks only. That day we just walked on the beach but next time we will try to reach the island.
This was the first time I had mate tea (cha mate) which I found delicious. It has a little ginger taste. It is prepared by steeping dried leaves of yerba mate in hot water. It is very popular drink here but I guess only in Brazil it is served with so much sugar (maybe not). It is a caffeine-rich tea and with ice it must be a very good thirst quencher in summer.
